Since encountering nonviolent communication in 2010, I also consider it enormously helpful to become fluent in the vocabulary of feelings and needs, which assists in developing a compassionate, needs-fulfilling relationship with yourself and others. In turn, we can devise life-enriching strategies to get more needs met and, simply, make life more wonderful.

Sentence completion exercises can help one integrate difficult emotional experiences, as they open the door to one's subconscious processes. Becoming your own best friend is part of this; stems can make it easier to have compassion for yourself, which reduces the oftentimes daunting task of changing mental patterns and behaviors. Being happy can become your conscious purpose now. There’s no need to settle for less. Life is way too short (and too long) to be spent feeling miserable, conflicted, or disconnected (even apathetic), due to unmet needs such as compassion, clarity, harmony, peace, understanding, and meaning.
p.s., Here are a few sentence completion exercises to ponder, or better yet, complete with six to ten endings for each stem as spontaneously as possible. The key is to just write/type something freely, in an uninhibited way, without "thinking too much." This gives voice to the various facets of your subconscious mind.
